Quinton Head is known to the world as "Nubs". He lost his legs and fingertips when he was 8 months old after being burned by boiling water. The accident was Head's first taste of adversity. Now he spends his days battling drug addiction and poverty. A former student at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., Head could not handle the workload and was forced to withdraw from his classes. "I'm not into all that English and math stuff," he said. Head lives in a one-bedroom house on Indianola Street with his girlfriend, Robin Blevens. Head was recently released from a 15-month jail sentence for drug trafficking and has no plans for the future. "Unfortunate circumstances put me in jail and I won't go back," he said. His only sources of income are selling marijuana and plasma. "I can only do what I'm good at, and that really isn't much," he said.
